Nearly six months ago, I was broken up with by someone I thought I'd spend the rest of my life with. And now we've become strangers we used to know.
But let me assure my clients, that is not going to happen between us. So, yes, hi, it's me again.
If you've had your branding photos done with me, you've probably reached the point where the website is sorted, LinkedIn is sorted, and you still have no idea what to post on a Tuesday. That's what this is about. I'm now offering content creation for small business owners in Sydney, exclusively to past clients: a three-hour session filmed on my phone, and I've called it Hey, It's Me Again.
What do you post after a branding shoot?
Angela is a meditation teacher I photographed for four hours at Metronome Studios in Sydenham. She walked away with 48 retouched images across three sets, and every one has a job, whether that's LinkedIn, a speaker profile, or a keynote slide with room for a headline. Then she told me she needed help with content, and it made complete sense. I wrote about this in What Kind of Photos Does Your Business Actually Need?: a branding shoot is built for specific places, with the research, the strategy call and the written proposal behind it. Those images can carry your weekly posts too, once you know how to use them properly. But posting every week takes more than that: more footage, in more formats. The two complement each other. So alongside the polished images, I film you talking to camera and the everyday moments of your business, set up a template so posting takes minutes, and show you how to turn your branding images into carousels.
What is Hey, It's Me Again?
I meet you somewhere that suits your business, a café, a walk, your workspace, and film on my phone for three hours. The brief comes before the camera, even when the camera is my phone, so we plan it together first. Before we film, we talk through the questions your clients keep asking you, so you know what to say to camera. Then I film the everyday footage around them: the coffee, the laptop, your hands at work, you walking into a room. You get every clip. If you'd like reels cut from it, I can do that, and I can set up a Canva template in your brand: proper post layouts where all you do is swap in your photos and your words.
It's for past clients only, and it's there to make your life easier. You can book one session, or a pack of three if you'd like content lined up for the months ahead, and the pack works out cheaper per session.
As I said in my last post, a branding shoot and a content session are different jobs. The branding shoot comes first, because that's where the research and strategy happen. This is the top-up, and it works because the thinking is already done.
Why film it on a phone?
Because it's easier. There's no big set-up and no big budget needed: no crew, no studio hire, no long list of gear. It's me, my phone and somewhere that suits your business. I still direct you the whole way: where to look, what to do with your hands, when to breathe.
Questions about content creation for small business owners
What is content creation for small business owners?
It's the videos and photo contents you post to show your brand message, as opposed to the polished brand photos. For most small businesses that means talking-to-camera clips plus footage of your day.
What do I get from a content session?
Three hours of filming on my phone and every clip from it. Edited reels and a Canva post template, where you just swap in your photos and words, are optional extras.
Do I need to have done a branding shoot with you first?
Yes, it's for past branding clients only, because the brand thinking is already done. If we haven't worked together yet, a branding shoot is the place to start.
What if I hate talking to camera?
Most people do at first, and it doesn't get in the way. We talk through the questions beforehand so you're answering things you already know, and I direct you the whole way.
How much does it cost?
You can book a single 3-hour session, or a pack of three if you'd like ongoing content lined up for the months ahead. The pack costs less per session. Reels and the Canva template are optional extras. Message me and we'll work it out together.
