A One-Day Smartphone Content Workshop
The Bare Minimum
Method Workshop
Minimum effort. Maximum content.
A hands-on workshop that teaches you the foundation and method for filming and editing so easily, content stops feeling like a chore and starts feeling like a breeze.
You don't need to lose sleep to create content. You need a system.
You've filmed forty takes of the same eight seconds. Still haven't posted.
It's not that you don't know content matters. It's that filming and editing yourself feels like a full second job on top of the one you already have — and somehow everyone else makes it look easy.
Why This Workshop
Two specialists.
One content library.
FILMING & EDITING
Mel
How to film and edit efficiently — B-roll, simple transitions, sound, a repeatable system you can run again on your own every week.
PRESENCE & DIRECTION
Tammy
How to actually feel comfortable being filmed — direction, posing, what to do with your body when a lens is pointed at you.
- Two presenters, complementary skills
- Small group — 10 to 12 people, not a seminar
- Real-time editing, not homework
- A full "day in your own story" practical, not isolated tips
- Everything done on your own phone
- No new software or gear to learn
Is This You?
Who it's for
— and who it's not.
This is for you if —
- You create some or all of your own social content
- You know you need to show up more consistently, but it feels difficult or time-consuming
- You're not confident filming or photographing yourself
- You want everyday content to look better, without complicated equipment
- You still value professional photography and video — but need to create good content yourself in between shoots
No previous photography or video experience required.
Not the right fit if —
- You want to become a full-time content creator or influencer
- You'd rather watch a recording than get up and film
- You're after a passive lecture, not a hands-on practical
- You want a professional shoot done for you, not skills to do it yourself
That last one? That's what Studio TingTing's shoots are for — this workshop is what happens in between.
By The End Of The Day
What you'll walk away with
A finished content libraryFilmed, directed, and edited — ready to post, not raw footage to sort out later.
A complete story sequenceA directed "day in your own story," so you know how to structure a shoot yourself next time.
A B-roll libraryFootage you can pull from and drop into a reel whenever you need one, for months.
How to shoot with intentWhat to film, how to frame it, how to light it — instead of pointing and hoping.
Simple editing skillsTransitions, text, sound — done live, on your own phone, in the room.
A body that knows what to doA short warm-up that shifts guarded energy into confident energy before you're filmed.
A takeaway guideTo run the whole process again, solo, whenever you need to.
A room of other foundersFiguring out the exact same thing you are.
The Story Practical
A day in your own story.
Six scenes, filmed and photographed as one connected narrative through the space.
SCENE 01
Mirror
Opening hook — picking up the phone, checking yourself.
SCENE 02
Coffee Ritual
The "coffee on the balcony" storyline.
SCENE 03
Desk Work
Doing the work, in the office/desk setup.
SCENE 04
Doorway
A threshold moment.
SCENE 05
The Reveal
Window-light portrait — warm-up happens right before this one.
SCENE 06
Exit
The walk-away.
Morning
Foundations — filming, framing and lighting, demoed live and mirrored to a screen.
Midday
Presence & direction — how to stop freezing, plus a warm-up that actually works.
Afternoon
The story practical — filmed and photographed scene by scene, edited as you go.
By 4pm
A finished content library, and a system you can run again on your own.
Camera-Ready, On Your Own
You, directing you.
No one behind the camera doesn't mean no direction — it means you know it yourself.
POSING
Natural, Not Stiff
What to actually do with your hands, how to create movement instead of freezing into a pose, how small shifts in weight and expression change a shot completely, and how to get real variety out of one single setup.
SELFIES
Solo & Still Good
Setting the phone up on a timer or remote, propping it at the right height and angle, finding your mark in frame without someone telling you where to stand, and directing a friend or partner when they're the one holding the camera.
- What to do with your hands when there's no direction happening in real time
- Getting multiple usable looks from a single phone position
- Timer, remote, or propped phone — solo setups that actually work
- Reading your own angles without a monitor to check
- Directing someone else who's never held a camera for you before
- Practised both ways — as the subject and as the one giving direction
Who Runs It
Meet your presenters
Mel
Filming & Editing
Content creator who's spent years figuring out what actually works, so attendees don't have to. Leads the filming and editing side — how to shoot simply, edit fast, and build a B-roll system that saves real time every week.
Tammy
Presence & Direction
Studio TingTing — personal branding and commercial photographer with an advertising background. Leads the direction side: how to actually feel confident the moment a lens is pointed at you.
